Mahmoud Vaezi, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, said in a public meeting in Majlis that 14 universities and research centers in the country examine and conduct surveillance on the internet. “We have also set up intelligent filtration and have blocked 400 million videos… Last year, we blocked 7 million internet addresses and 121 apps and anti-filters”, he stressed. At the end of his speech he referred to the identification of internet users. “The identities of all those who use SIM cards is known and all those who use the internet have a certain IP. IPs have not been allocated to people under the age of 18”, the Minister added. (ISNA state-run News Agency – Jun. 6, 2017)
