The Director General of Kerman Prisons and Security and Corrective Measures said that last year 19,000 prisoners were admitted into prisons in the province. “This means that on average, every hour, 2.1 people have been jailed”, Ramezan Amiri said. “Currently, there are 12,650 prisoners in Kerman’s prisons and from these numbers, 5 percent are illiterate”, he added. NCRI - The nurses’ nationwide protests were held on Sunday, August 6, 2017, in accordance with previous calls in front of the Ministry of Health and Universities of Medical Sciences in Tehran and other cities across Iran. Nurses launched the rally to protest against a plan called “Training Hospital Nurses.” The Iranian regime wants to use this self-made plan to introduce to hospitals the Basij forces or those who have no nursing education as nurses to enter the hospitals. While holding banners and placards, protesting nurses called for the cancellation of the project.

Iran Focus London, 1 Aug - A leading figure in the Iranian Resistance has called on the US to abandon the flawed 2015 nuclear deal and advocate for regime change if they really want to achieve a fairer Iran. Reza Shafiee, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), wrote an op-ed for The Gatestone Institute in which he criticised the US’s decision to certify the Iranian Regime as compliant with the nuclear deal despite clear evidence to the contrary.
