Detained musician Yusef Emadi who was detained in Section 350 in Evin Prison was transferred to Section Eight on Sunday June 4 on orders of prison officials. In protest to negligence regarding the condition of political prisoner Ismail Abdi by Judicial officials, Emadi and political prisoner Arash Sadegh held a sit in outside of the office of the head prison guard on June 1. According to reports, a number of political prisoners have dubbed Section Eight as the “worst section and a place of exile for political prisoners”. Emadi has been sentenced to three years of prison and three years of parole on the charge of “blasphemy”. (Human Rights in Iran – Jun. 6, 2017)
